Meet Our Mentor
Mo Alie-Cox
Mo Alie‑Cox is a tight end for the Indianapolis Colts whose career exemplifies reinvention, adaptability, and quiet leadership. Mo transitioned from collegiate basketball at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) to the NFL in 2017, despite not having played organized football since early high school.
During his time at VCU, Mo became a defensive stalwart, earning recognition as a three-time Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team member and cementing a reputation as “Mo Says No” in the paint.
Upon joining the Colts in 2017, Mo brought that same intensity and mindset to football. Coaches and teammates quickly praised his consistency, work ethic, and team-first mentality, noting disciplined film study and relentless effort as foundations of a lasting NFL career. On the field, he has earned respect as a versatile tight end—effective as both a blocker and a reliable receiver, making impactful plays even when they don’t show up in the stat sheet.
Why Mo Is a Great Mentor for Prodigy
Mo’s story proves that success is rarely linear. From VCU hoops to an earned role in the NFL, his journey models courage, humility, and perseverance. Though he lives outside Texas, he will remain closely connected with his mentee through regular communication and intentional support. This season, his mentee will attend a Colts game when they face the Texans—offering a live view of Mo’s preparation, focus, and professionalism. For a young athlete, witnessing that level of commitment firsthand ignites belief and reinforces the power of consistency and character.
Mo is the kind of mentor who doesn’t just speak about leadership—he lives it every day. His example shows that greatness is built over time, grounded in discipline and purpose long before the spotlight ever finds you.
